Week 2 of Southern Living  6-26-16

Hello Family,
This week was super full and I made sure to take lots of pictures.  I'll try to use more pics and fewer words so that getting through my update isn't the equivalent of getting through numbers in the old testament... I've never read it.

FHE -- Ward FHE was playing ultimate Frisbee.  Its a great way to get your glisten on...
My backpack had the honor of being one side of the goal -- thanks for the backpack,, Drew!

The UofA hogs were practicing on my way home from FHE. That was cool to watch.!
Shane's Chicago Friends:  Shane's family friends from Chicago work in Wal-mart, and the mom is pretty high up in the company.  I reached out to them and now we have a date to get together :)

The Mile: I swam a mile in the pool after work in 43 minutes.  This is a drastic improvement from the 3 hour mile back at girls camp.  I did have goggles this time, and we weren't socializing with Mom :)

Ward Activity: On Wednesday evening, we had a ward activity where we called, emailed, or messaged all the less actives in the stake to invite them to a pool party.  I only had 1 awkward moments.  1, I called a kid and he answered.  i began to talk and invite him to the activity.  He was giving me a hard time for calling and being a little rude.  I started to get a little uncomfortable, but then he eventually walked into the room where I was calling laughing.  I had no idea he was at the activity making calls himself!
Lunch time walks:  I try to take a 30 minute walk every lunch time so I can keep my tan.  I like taking pictures of houses on these walks.  Cassie would love it.
Classy with a porch

Don't like the house, but I like the idea of a wrap around porch.

Work: Since I am working in frozen foods, we sample so many frozen foods, the majority of them are delicious, but not very healthy.  An example are these cheese sticks.
Suppliers from all over come in and present their products to us.  They want them to look really nice so that we pick them as our main supplier.  The new culinary innovation center has 6 brand new kitchens and it makes it convenient for the suppliers.

My supervisor and I took a trip to whole foods to look for frozen meals to use as references.  The selection was slim, but I did take these two photos.  Note the amount of cheese, but do you notice anything peculiar about the cookies?  Look closely.  (Hint: It contains something native to Holstein Haven :) )

I'm not sure if you all saw the missionary agenda at Wal-mart, but I know that it's true! :)

Thrift Store: I bought a new blouse and white capris from the local thrift store.  I think it's a pretty cute combo, and best of all, it gives me something a little cooler to wear to work.

LDS YSA Lunch:  The Walmart YSAs got together for lunch on Friday.  I packed my own lunch to the restaurant.  Its not as bad as Sam with the sour cream at Texas Roadhouse!

Dixon Street: Kristina and I went down to the center street of Fayetteville on Friday night.  75% of the buildings are bars, but we also spent time in an awesome bookstore! It was huge!

Tons of food trucks

Ice cream cones where you pick your sauce and your coating

LPGA: Saturday we spent the day on the golf course at the ladies pro golf competition.  It was a beautiful course, and we got TONS of high quality freebies (antiaging cream, 2 high quality razors, deoderents, pantene hair products, cleaning supplies, etc.)  It was only $1 to get in as an intern.
No, I didn't win a car

my full bag of goodies

She hit a ball in the rough

Trying to explain golf... or trying to look legit.

The other interns
A high up Walmart VP let us come to his house which was right on the course.  We had jambalaya, cold drinks (don't worry, I said no to all alcohol), and great time.  I got a little antsy after a little bit, but that always happens during "relaxing" time :)

Walmart was a huge Sponsory
Concert: I went to my first Concert ever last night.  It was Rachel Platten (She sings this is my fight song.)  It was a ton of fun, and only $5!
The line to get in moved pretty fast

Setting Apart:  It was so cool being able to listen in to the parents getting set apart!  I'm so excited for them, and they are going to be awesome Mission Presidents (it's not acutally plural, but lets be real, Mom will be doing just as much, if not more, than Dad :)  )
I h ave the most beautiful family EVER!
My view as I listened to the setting apart.
Sorry this was so long!  I hope you all have a fantastic week!
