Week 4 -- Finished

New Orleans Cont. = I ended my update last week in New Orleans, and that is where I'm starting out.  Sunday after Church, T.C., Aly, Tanner, and I went to see their favorite widow, Joyce.  Joyce's house is full of old stuff, and she is a funny gal.  She's starting to lose her mind, so T.C. tells most of her stories for her :)  We then had a seafood boil after.

Great flavors, and it was fun popping the shrimp heads off of the bodies.  After dinner, we played games, and ate mountains of Butter Pecan Blue Bell ice cream, apple pie, cookies and cookie butter, etc.  I am amazed that T.C. and Aly stay as fit as they do :)
I love the design of Aly's ring with the diamonds inside the band and almost celtic knots on the band as well.  I, of course, would want mine in yellow gold!
Monday, we all went and changed an air conditioner in THE MOST NASTY HOUSE I HAVE EVER SEEN.  Good luck fellowshipping, T.C. and Aly :)  It was fun though.  I was scared for Tanner's life, however.  We then drank the drama away with hot chocolate at "Morning Calls."
Beignets and hot chocolate.  We even shake our own powdered sugar on it.

Aly is holding Tanner up in the high chair :)

To life, liberty, and the pursuit of beignets
I then made my 9 hour trip home... Happy Independence Day!!!

Adult Hand-foot-mouth disease -- Cindy and I have some things in common... including hand-foot-mouth disease.  Thanks to my awesome insurance plan, I went into the doctor, and got some medicine.  It's looking and feeling a lot better.

Curtis Friends -- I was able to go to lunch with some friends of Shane Curtis (not the scary one from google, the actual Shane Curtis.)  The Jan Saumwebber and her daughter, Jackie, work at Walmart.  Their family used to vacation with Shane's family.  They were all there when Shane got released as a missionary on the beach house dock.  They are a pleasant couple of women.

Dallas -- I was able to go to Dallas this week for work.  I was so happy with the fancy food!  Some of those grocery stores make their food look so pretty (but they also sell a pound of strawberries for $6.99/lb.

So classy

The olive bar looks very pretty, but they should really focus their efforts on something a little bit more delicious than olives
Sushi lunch... I wasn't that impressed.  I should've picked another type of roll

Does anyone notice anything different or out of place about these brownies on the shelf at a less quality store?  Yuck!!!
Sam, Thanksgiving expectations are now set

Beautiful Sandwiches too

Scary Day to Be in Dallas -- I just happened to be in Dallas the same day that the big cop shooting occured.  5 were killed and 11 were shot.  We were staying about 4 miles away at the time.  I decided to just pick some food up from the grocery store for dinner, very unlike me since the company was paying, but I wanted to relax and go swimming. My coworker dropped me off and went out to eat not much later.  She went downtown and right when she was leaving the restaurant, there were tons of sirens and ambulances that came.  It must have been right after the first shooting occurred.  I'm glad that I was at the hotel, but I didn't go swimming because the pool was outside.  Super sad, and I was glad to get out of there the next day.

Mini Golf -- The ward went Mini Golfing this Friday night.  I loved the course!  It was super pretty and there was a huge showing of kids -- about 31 YSA's there!  I got a hole in one on the last hole, so I get a free game... now I just need to decide when, and with whom to use it.  Anyone want to come visit me and go mini golfing? ;)
Okay, the horizontal stripes make me look huge in this photo...

And the zebra adds too much stripe to the picture

Farmer's Market -- Kristina, another girl from the ward, and I went to the Fayetteville Farmer's Market on Saturday Morning.  There were tons of people and their dogs.  Also, lots of flowers and produce.  Not as many baked goods or crafts as normal.  There were some weird veggies, however :)
Purple Hull Peas (I think that is black-eyed peas

Ugly melons
Car Problem -- My car has two issues: a tube hanging down the bottom, and when it rains really hard, their is flooding on the passenger side floor board.  I spent 6 hours working on it on Saturday.  It took a lot of calling T.C., research, driving around, and improvising parts.  I think the flooding should be pretty good, now, but the dragging piece needs cut off...

I took out this rubber piece from under the hood and made a foam replicate instead :)
Sunday Walk -- After our very successful Linger Longer, Kristina and I took a walk at Wilson Park.  There was this awesome contemporary art Castle!  I don't understand all the weird symbols, but its fun to climb on :)

Its been a week!  Big plans for this next week, including seeing Drew in Tulsa.  I'm now on my final transfer... 6 weeks left, Woot!
